In November 2019, Colectiva Las Niñas de Guatemala was invited by Mujeres Transformando El Mundo (MTM) to El Estor, Izabal, to meet and document the women recipients of the project “Day of Expression and Movement”
Women’s bodies in this country have become wounded territories marred by violence. Everyday life and its social dynamics have reached irrational levels of incoherence. Sexual violence against girls, adolescents, young women, and adult women has become a systemic reality that is normalized and perpetuated.
For this project, we developed a methodological proposal for exploration and collective artistic creation. Through this approach, participants are supported in discovering and connecting with their bodies, emotions, thoughts, and creativity. A diverse group of artists from different fields accompany the participants, guiding them in the collective creation of an artistic piece with a specific message that contributes to the fight for women’s sexual and reproductive rights.
La muestra que se realizó en la plaza de las niñas el 25 de noviembre provocó un impacto sumamente positivo en las organizaciones que acompañaron la movilización y el performance. Se realizó en el inicio de las actividades programadas para el 25N.

The 2025 rap and movement workshops were designed for young female artists from Patojismo, Colectivo Bat’z, and Peronia Adolescente. These workshops are based on a methodology where rhythm and movement are key tools for creating in community.
